As the COVID19 pandemic began to spread across the globe, El Segundo restaurants experienced swift, devastating changes to the amount of customers in their dining rooms. A small community of people who care for one another deeply, El Segundo’s restaurant owners & operators came together, along with the Chamber of Commerce & staff members from City of El Segundo, to talk about next steps & how they could support one another to keep the restaurants in business, their staffs employed & fresh food to the people of El Segundo. From this an idea was born…meet Gundo To Go.
The community quickly galvanized. The El Segundo Police Department distributed signs & cones for designated parking within 48 hours, a social media presence was created, & a movement was launched.
